Bahadur couldn't stand, but he could still wag his tail.
Bahadur was found on the streets of Dombivli East, Mumbai, after being hit by a vehicle. Three of his legs were badly injured — broken and mangled from the impact. He was lying in the mud, unable to stand, but when rescuers reached him, his tail was still wagging.
Empathy Unlimited brought him in on April 27, 2026 and started treatment immediately. His injuries are severe and he’s in a lot of pain, but he’s stable and getting daily medical care. He’s been cleaned up, bandaged, and is resting in a warm space for the first time since the accident.
Bahadur’s name means “brave” in Hindi, and it fits. Even at his worst, he never stopped trusting the people around him. He has a long recovery ahead, but he’s not facing it alone anymore.
