Zlata was living as a stray on the streets of Moldova with a heavy chain around her neck. By the time she was found, the chain had become deeply embedded, leaving her with a severe injury that needed urgent medical attention.

Catching Zlata wasn’t easy. It took several days of trying before she could finally be brought to safety and taken to a veterinarian. Once there, the vets were able to carefully remove the chain and begin treating the wound it had left behind.

Despite everything she had been through, Zlata made it through the procedure and began recovering quickly. Within days, she was well enough to be spayed and, best of all, she was eating and beginning to settle in. Now Zlata has the chance to leave her life as a stray behind. She is safe, surrounded by people who care about her, and getting the time and care she needs to recover. We can’t undo what happened to this sweet girl, but we can help make sure the next part of her story is filled with kindness, comfort, and hope.
