Jagu was found on the streets of Jogeshwari, Mumbai, with severe maggot wounds on his head. Local NGOs were contacted, but none were willing to take him in. When Empathy Unlimited heard about his condition, they made the trip across the city to bring him back to their shelter.

By the time he arrived, Jagu was defeated, weak, in pain, and sitting alone in the dark with an open wound. But from the moment he got a clean cage, a blanket, and his first real medical treatment, things started to change. He’s now stable, his wounds are being treated daily, and he’s drinking and eating on his own.

Jagu still has a road ahead of him as his wounds continue to heal. He’s in the right place now, with people who weren’t willing to look the other way.
